Banksy

I love the art work/graffitti by Banksy. He manages to make it relate so well to its surounding context and in a very funny way. It also makes you think.

one sheet of paper

These are some selected works of Peter Callesen. They were based around the exploration of the relationship between two and three dimensionality. They used only one sheet of paper. Some of his designs are amazing. I particularly love the one with the butterflies and the tree with the fallen leaves.

Antler craze

My lastest obsession at the moment is finding some nice faux antlers. I am in the process of re-decorating my room and I thought some antler horns would be a different look. My favourite is the last image, if it was then painted in a high gloss white.

Arabella Ramsay

I loved this fashion designer last season and yet again she has produced a gorgeous winter 08 season. I can't wait until the clothes hit the Brisbane stores but I might have to head to Melbourne as well to check out the boutique shop. As her website says the shop blends "Parisian chic with a contemporary twist". The whitewashed floorboards and original fixtures really suit her clothing.

Dreaming of the Greek Islands

I am hoping to go overseas sometime next year and somewhere I have always wanted to visit (apart from France) is the Greek Islands. I love the look of the stark white buildings that decorate the cliff of Santorini and Mykonos. These images above are of Santorini.

odds and ends

These photos are of llubav abando choy's home in nyc via design*sponge. I was looking at design*sponge because the interior designer I work for will be doing some feature posts for this blog, I understand now why she raves about it. Not only do I love the stuff on it but I love the layout and look of the website. love the lace down the side. I think the wall of odd old keys is beautiful and a different way of putting something on the wall rather than just a painting or picture.

Beautiful soaps

I have started collecting these soaps which I just bought from David Jones. There are so many different colours and patterns I could decide which ones to buy. I love them because of their outside wrapping, its just like wallpaper on a soap bar. The patterns are so intricate. They also smell really nice!

GINGERBOY

I discovered this photo while reading the Wallpaper magazine, it is a newly opened restaurant called Gingerboy in one of Melbourne's narrow back streets in the city. The very small area for the restaurant has been maximised by Architects Elenberg Fraser. I love their design of using mirrors on one wall to open up the room and also the use of clear perspex chairs similar to Philippe Starcks Louis ghost chair which just disappear into the space. The installation of shiny black bamboo poles and spotlights on the wall and ceiling creates a sparkling tunnelled ceiling which results in a starry night illusion.

Gorgeous yellow

I was introduced to the designs of Kelly Wearstler by Anna and Avril recently and now I have absolutely fallen in love with her work. Her attention to detail is amazing and everything is so crisp and rich.

My favourite quote of hers from the Modern Glamour book is
"I love to be caught unaware by a stunning surprise."

Picnic in the flowers

I found this gorgeous photo on the front of Homes and Gardens when i was putting magazines away @ work, you might have seen it. I just absolutely love it. It looks so relaxing and yummy. One of my favourite things is getting a group of friends and having an afternoon picnic in the sun. I love the mix of yellow with the pink and white. Sorry about all the writing on it.

my first entry from love tessa

Hello to the world of blogging

I have been trying to write this blog for a while, I wasn't quite sure what to put in a first blog.
I have started this blog while working at Black & Spiro and I hope to share my journey through my work and everyday life.

I am working as an assistant interior designer to Anna Spiro at Black & Spiro. I have only been working here for two weeks and already I am loving it. It is so changing and fast paced. I hope to one day have the knowledge of Anna and be able to design beautfiul rooms like her.

I hope you enjoy my blog space. This blog is for everything I love and everything that is beautiful.
